Friends of Watermoor House

Our Circle of Friends programme aims to provide a variety of ways to support and improve the lives of our residents here at Watermoor House. Whether you have an hour every week or just an occasional few hours to spare, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.

  • 1-hour time slots
  • Activities are usually scheduled from 11am-12pm, 2-3pm or 2.30-3.30pm Monday to Friday
  • You can choose from either:
  • Repeat: commit to either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly slots for a specific activity
  • Flexible: pick your specific activity & dates up to 1 month in advance

Our ‘Outings Friends’ help by accompanying our staff and residents on outings to local cafes, restaurants and attractions.

Our ‘Special Event Friends’ help out with the organising and running of our special events organised throughout the year including Car Boot Sales, Summer Fete, Speciality Shopping Evenings and Fashion Shows.

Person Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in helping organise and put on special events
  • Time Commitment:

As a registered charity, we are always looking for new ways to fundraise. As a ‘Fundraising Friend’ of Watermoor House, you have the option of fundraising for us in several ways:

  • Promote our organised fundraising activities such as raffles, tombola’s by selling tickets through your own circle of friends, family and co-workers.
  • Donate or volunteer to ask for donations from local businesses for our regular raffles and tombola’s
  • Sponsor an activity either personally or through your business. For example, you could pay for the refreshments on a special event like our Pimm’s and Pamper Evening.
  • Organise your own activity or event with proceeds going to Watermoor House. For example, you could organise a cake sale at your place of work.

All Friends of Watermoor House receive a personalised name badge, and recognition in our regular newsletters, on our Facebook page and website and occasionally in the local press.   We provide complimentary refreshments and parking (first come basis) at the home for your visits.
